Your Link Set GO page has two images: a profile picture (the round avatar) and a banner (the wide header behind it). Getting the size and format right means the page loads quickly and stays crisp on phones, tablets and retina laptops.
## Where to upload
- Go to Link Set GO -> Public profile.
- Under Profile images, choose a file for Profile image or Banner image.
- Wait for the "Image uploaded" confirmation, then press Save - uploads are only applied to your live page once the profile is saved.
## Recommended sizes

Anything smaller than 600 px on the long edge will look soft on modern screens. Anything larger than about 2000 px is wasted detail that only slows the page down.
## Best file formats
- WebP - best choice. Same quality as JPEG at roughly a third of the file size.
- JPEG - great for photos. Export at quality 75-85; higher settings add size without visible gain.
- PNG - only for logos, flat artwork or anything needing a transparent background. Photos saved as PNG are often 5-10x larger than they need to be.
- Avoid HEIC/HEIF (straight off an iPhone), TIFF, BMP and animated GIFs - they either will not display in every browser or are far too heavy.
iPhone tip: if your photo is a `.HEIC` file, open it in Photos and choose Share -> Options -> Most Compatible to get a JPEG you can upload.
## Keep the file size down
- Aim for under 300 KB for the profile picture and under 600 KB for the banner.
- Resize before uploading - do not upload a 12 MP camera file and let the browser shrink it.
- Free tools that work well: Squoosh, TinyPNG, Photopea, or the export presets in Canva.
- Strip location data from phone photos if the shot was taken somewhere private.
## Choosing images that work
- Profile picture: a tight head-and-shoulders shot or your band logo on a solid background. It renders as small as 40 px in shared previews, so busy full-band shots turn to mush.
- Banner: a live shot, textured backdrop or brand artwork. Keep the middle third clear - the profile picture and your name sit over it.
- Check contrast against your chosen theme. Light themes need darker banners; dark themes need banners with enough light in them to read against.
- Only upload images you have the rights to use. Photographer credits belong in your bio or a custom link.
## Troubleshooting
- Upload fails or stalls: the file is probably too large or an unsupported format. Re-export as JPEG or WebP under 2 MB.
- Image looks blurry: the source was too small - upload at least 800 px on the long edge.
- Old image still showing: press Save on the profile, then hard-refresh your public page (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R). Shared social previews can cache for several hours.
- Wrong part of the photo is showing: crop to the recommended ratio before uploading; the page crops to fill, from the centre.
