1. What the stem splitter does

One file in, six usable parts out — with you in control of what gets kept.

Six parts from one file
Vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and everything else — pulled apart cleanly from a single full mix.
Studio files welcome
MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and WMA, up to 200 MB. Bring the master, not a bounce.
Listen before you save
Play every part on its own, tick the ones you want, and pick the song they belong to. Nothing lands on a song by surprise.
Watch it happen
A live progress bar shows the upload, the separation and the saving, with an estimate of how long is left.

2. How it works

1. Upload your mix
Open Stem Studio, choose the song the parts belong to, and drop in the file. You see the size, the cost and the time estimate before anything starts.
2. The split runs
Your track is separated into six parts while you watch the progress. You can leave the page and come back to it.
3. Review and keep
Listen to each part, keep the ones you want, discard the rest, and save them onto your song ready for the stage.

3. What acts use it for

Play live without the missing part
Drop the guitar out of the mix when your guitarist is away, or keep only drums and bass behind an acoustic duo.
Rehearse a single part
Loop the isolated vocal or bass line so a new member can learn their part properly before the next rehearsal.
Build your own backing tracks
Take a full recording and turn it into a balanced backing track you control fader by fader on stage.

Saved parts flow straight into your song list, Playback Manager, rehearsal spaces and Stage Connect — the same mix on every device in the band.

4. What it costs

Stem splitting runs on prepaid credit, separate from your monthly plan. Bigger files use more credit, and the exact amount is shown before you accept.

Prepaid credit, no surprises
Top up when it suits you. Each split shows exactly what it will use before you accept.
Automatic refunds
If a split doesn't finish, the credit returns to your balance without you having to ask.
Your music stays yours
Your uploads sit in your own private account space and are only used to make your stems.

5. Questions, answered

What do I get back?
Six separate parts from your one file: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and everything else. You listen to each one before anything is saved to your song.
What files can I upload?
Studio and everyday formats alike — MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and WMA — up to 200 MB per track.
How long does it take?
Most songs finish in a few minutes. Large lossless files take longer, and you watch the progress the whole way.
How is it paid for?
You buy stem credit up front and each split uses a set amount. If a split doesn't finish, the credit comes straight back to you.
Is it perfect?
It is very good, not magic. Busy mixes can leave a little bleed between parts, which is why you get to listen first and keep only the parts you're happy with.
