Tax and your obligations

Gig Set GO helps Australian acts get the numbers right. It does not pay your tax for you — here is exactly where the line sits.

What Gig Set GO does
We calculate and record GST, PAYG withholding and superannuation on your bookings, invoices and performer splits, and we keep the paperwork — invoices, recipient-created tax invoices, supplier declarations and super obligations — in one place.
What Gig Set GO does not do
We do not withhold tax, remit money to the ATO, pay super to a fund, or lodge a BAS or any other return on your behalf. Gig Set GO is not a withholding agent, not a deemed supplier, and not your tax agent or financial adviser.
What the act is responsible for
The act (or its manager) reports and pays its own GST, withholds and remits PAYG for performers with no ABN and no valid exception, and pays superannuation to each performer's fund within the Payday Super window. The figures in the app are there to make that easy, not to do it for you.
What performers are responsible for
Each performer is responsible for their own income tax, and for their own GST if they are registered. Amounts shown as paid to a performer are gross of their own tax.
Money that moves through Gig Set GO
When a venue pays an invoice by card or bank transfer through Gig Set GO, the payment is processed by our payment provider and settled to the act, less the Gig Set GO service charge (the card, bank and super provider costs are inside it — neither provider bills the act). Gig Set GO pays tax only on that service charge, which is invoiced to the act with GST and is claimable as a business expense.
Working figures, not advice
The BAS summary, super figures and tax breakdowns in the app are working figures based on the rates and details you enter. Check them with your accountant or registered tax agent before you lodge anything. Gig Set GO accepts no liability for amounts reported or paid to the ATO.
